Environmental processing plants
HRS Heat Exchangers has developed the following systems, specifically designed for evironmental applications:
Concentration using Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) and Multiple-effect evaporation.
We have developed systems for concentration using both Mechanical Vapor Recompression (vapor-compression evaporation) and multiple-effect evaporation for the treatment of industrial residues and wastes. Our systems for concentration incorporate the Unicus® scraped surface heat exchanger performing as evaporator which, when coupled with the Mechanical Vapor Recompression gives the following advantages:
- The Unicus® scraped surface heat exchanger guarantees the absence of fouling within the evaporator, which allows it to work for as long as necessary without stopping.
- The Unicus® scraped surface heat exchanger allows high levels of concentration.
- The Mechanical Vapor Recompression is the key to energy saving.
Applications
- Concentration of waste water and sludges by evaporation of the water or other volatile liquid components.
- Recovery of costly solvents or contaminants from sludges by condensation.
- Crystallization by means of evaporation and concentration.
- Dehydration of organic residues.
- Treatment of slurries of animal waste.
- Drying.
Multiple-effect evaporation
Our Multiple-effect evaporation systems also include the Unicus® scraped surface heat exchangers, which are the ideal partner for the concentration processes of waste products when associated with electrical cogeneration, which produce useful quantities of hot water or exhaust gases from which valuable energy can be recovered. The advantages are:
-
Absence of fouling.
-
Long operating times.
-
High levels of heat transfer.
Applications:
-
Especially suited for processing critical residues such as residual water from chemical and petrochemical plants which are difficult to treat in other ways.
