Oil & Gas
Oil and gas has two streams of processing, upstream and downstream and every stream has its place for heat exchangers.
These heat exchangers must be designed in such a way that it withstands extreme temperatures and pressures, two phase mixtures
and also corrosive media. Based on every customer requirement HRS FUNKE offers wide range of Gasketed, semi welded and fully
welded plate type heat exchangers.
HRS FUNKE document control department provides customers with all
types of calculations such as nozzle load, wind load, seismic loads etc. Each HRS FUNKE heat exchanger fabrication takes place
with major design codes like PED 97/23/EU with CE stamp, ASME Section VIII Division 1 with U stamp and API 662/ISO15547
Some of the oil and gas applications:
- Gas desulphurization
-
Crude oil Desalting
-
Heat Recovery
|
Desalting
Plate heat exchangers are used in removal of salt like calcium, magnesium and sodium chlorides from the crude oil. Desalting
process is the first process in refining of crude oil.HRS FUNKE provides different type of heat exchangers for different process
like welded, semi welded and Gasketed etc.
HRS FUNKE Heat exchangers are also used in the treater tanks to remove sand and separate produced water by heating the emulsions
of viscous crude, water with steam or glycol.

Gas Desulphurization
It’s a sweetening process where acidic components like hydrogen sulphide and other carbon products like carbon monoxide, carbon
disulphide, carbon dioxide is removed from gas streams. It is found in industries where sour gasses have to be treated like
ethylene production, natural gas treatment, refineries etc. Two plate heat exchangers are used for this process.
One is the Lean/rich amine interchanger and other is the lean amine cooler trim cooler. Normally SS316L plate material is
used, but if a lot of chlorides are present, then titanium or high alloyed steel like titanium can be used.

Heat Recovery
HRS FUNKE heat exchangers can give higher U value Heat exchangers which recovers large amounts of available Kilo watts in hot
water from treater tanks usable for preheating boiler feed water. The produced water can be further be heated through a steam
driven HRS FUNKE Heat exchanger which is re-entered in to wells for increased production.
