HRS FUNKE Heat Exchangers FZCO is part of the HRS and FUNKE groups. Both the groups are internationally renowned heat transfer and thermal processing specialist. The HRS and FUNKE Groups have wholly owned companies in the UK, USA, Russia, UAE, Netherlands, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Ukraine, Republic of Kazakhastan, China, Korea and India together with a global distributor network.

The HRS Group also operates a research centre in Spain for the development of processing techniques for the food industry. We specialise in the design and manufacture of a wide range of heat exchangers and associated products including plate, shell and tube and scraped surface heat exchanger units and relevant spare parts for every heat transfer industry solution.

Specialist in-house developed design and engineering software ensures we offer effective and optimum performance heat transfer solutions for an extensive range of processing applications, across a diverse spectrum of industries, including oil & gas, marine, power generation, food and drink, chemical, pharmaceutical, water and waste treatment and general manufacturing as well as district cooling/heating. We operate in the UAE from 6600 ft² warehouse and office premises located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, our manufacturing facilities are in Spain, Germany, UK and USA.

Plate Heat Exchangers

All HRS FUNKE units are computer-designed in-house and are calculated to obtain the correct thermal length for the heat transfer duty required, within specific parameters. The units feature stainless steel AISI 304 / 316 plates and EPDM gaskets as standard, with other materials including 245 SMO and titanium plates and NBR and Viton gaskets available dependent on the processing media. Our plate heat exchangers are certified in accordance with ISO 9001. All designs have preliminary approval from TUV and comply with the appropriate inspection and acceptance regulations such as LRS, DNV, BV, GL and ASME.

Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers

HRS FUNKE has designed different geometries to increase thermal efficiency in shell and tube heat exchangers by means of corrugation of both the inner and outer tubes. The shell and tube range is available in both mono and multi tube configurations and feature dimple, hard and soft corrugation. Of a welded AISI 304/316 stainless steel construction as standard, other materials are available on request. Our shell and tube heat exchangers are certified in accordance with ISO9001:2000 and ISO14001:2004 by TUV and comply with the appropriate inspection and acceptance regulations such as LRS, DNV, BV, GL and ASME.

  • CCFA non-removable tube bundle, 1-pass design. To be used as intercooler or after cooler for high pressure gas and air cooling.
  • UNIVEX-compact Series removable compact tube bundle with tubes made of CuNi10Fe, bonnets bronze, seawater resistant. High specific heat dissipation and 4-pass cooling water flow.
  • CP (TEMA-Type: W) solid design, removable bare or finned tube bundle, easy to inspect. sealing of the floating tube sheet by means of 2 gaskets, lantern ring with signal bore holes for leak detection.
  • A-100 (TEMA-Type: W) Removable bare tube bundle - 1-pass design - with floating tubesheet, can be equipped with centrifugal moisture separator.
  • C-100 (TEMA-Type: P) packed floating head, removable bundle design, allows for differential thermal expansion between shell and tubes.
  • C-200 (TEMA-Type: M) fixed tube bundle with or without shell expansion joint, maximum heat transfer by optimum shellside exchange surface.
  • C-300 (TEMA-Type: U) u-tube removable bundle design allows larger differential expansion in length due to different thermal expansion between shell and tubes, available with 2, 4 and 6-tube passes
  • C-400 (TEMA-Type: T) internal bolted floating head design with pull-through bundle, large inlet port at bundle, available with 2, 4 and 6-tube passes.
  • C-500 (TEMA-Type: S) internal clamp-ring head cover and removable bundle design, available with 1, 2, 4 and 6-tube passes, differential thermal expansions between shell and tubes, higher surface compared with comparable shell sizes of other types.
  • WRA (TEMA-Type: M) designed as exhaust gas heat exchanger with thermal shield at gas inlet of fixed tube bundle, max. inlet temperatures 600° C, with 1 and 2 tube passes.

Scraped Surface Heat Exchangers

We developed the Unicus range of dynamic scraped surface heat exchangers over a three year period which included type testing 50 units over 12 months. The range was developed for processing applications involving the heating and cooling of high viscosity products and for crystallisation, evaporation and high fouling applications. The Unicus range is manufactured from AISI 304/316 stainless steel as standard and is available with the tubes mounted in parallel and series. The scraper elements are manufactured from Teflon, polysulphone and peek as standard with other materials available on request.

Our scraped surface heat exchangers are certified in accordance with ISO9001:2000 and ISO14001:2004 by TUV and comply with the appropriate inspection and acceptance regulations such as LRS, DNV, BV, GL and ASME.

Apart from supplying tubular pasteuriser systems, turn key aseptic plants for various fruit products, different kind of meat and vegetable soups, we have a normal range of day to day production, which includes:
